PVC figures...

So Rustin (remember him?) and I got to talking yesterday, and we inevitably landed on the subject of toys. Namely, we were talking about films that were very toyetic, but that were not big enough to warrent a toy-line. The solution we came up with was PVC sets. You know, like DCD does to get out figures such as Ma Hunkle that just won't come out in 6" form any time in the near future (do it for the Silver Age JSA, Georg!). Six or seven characters in tiny statue form that are pre-posed and come with some key accessories. They aren't playable, but they are displayable.

Not sure if I see McFarlane doing this any time in the future, though it would be a good way for them to get out figures of characters from the comics that wouldn't fly off the shelves (or be stocked in places like TRU). And their 3" Sports figures looks to be going in that direction, anyway.

More people should do PVCs (and do them well). The world deserves them...

Dark Horse did some great ones with Hellboy & Popeye. I think they're doing another Hellboy movie set.
I love the DC JSA ones, too!

The Hellboy movie ones look great. They're the only merchandising from the movie that I'm looking forward to...
